2 Tickets to Paradise: Part 2 – Cameron Highland

Before I start with this article about our travel to a beautiful place Cameron Highlands in Malaysia, would like to mention that this was our second stop in our 15 days long trip. Check out Part 1 – Kuala Lumpur for our fun at Kuala Lumpur city.

Cameron Highland is a small but very beautiful hill station of Malaysia. The greenery and scenic beauty will surely take your breath away. So will the trek 😉

Located approximately 200 km north of Kuala Lumpur.

A little history about this place:

Cameron highland was discovered by Sir William Cameron in 1885. It’s the Tea state of Malaysia. Also noted for strawberries, lavender and butterfly farms. It contains rivers, mossy forest, temples, golf course and waterfalls as well.. all in all a complete package 🙂

We booked a cab from our hotel to the resort at Cameron highlands. The journey itself was amazing. Our cab driver Mr DeeDee was very friendly and polite. It took us roughly 3 hours to reach there.

The beauty and creativity of nature were stunning. I couldn’t take my eyes off…

We loved it at Kuala Lumpur city (wanted to permanently shift there 😉 ), but Cameron highland was a different story altogether and now we wanted to shift here.

Even though it was a hill station, the roads were smooth, broad and well maintained. There were only trees and hills and fog as far as your eyes can see.

We had our booking in Cameron highland Resorts. It is a colonial time style designed resort. The location was great, the staff was friendly and rooms were spacious.

Next day our tour took us to BOH tea plantation which is the major tea plantation of the country consisting 8000 acres land planted with tea.

After that, we went to see the tea factory – about how the leaves become the tea we drink. Then visited butterfly farms – there were a various butterfly, insects and reptiles. Also, viper snakes which frankly gave me heebie-jeebies.

Then we went to Gunung brichang mountain – the 2nd highest mountain at 2000mt above sea level. Covered with mossy forest and had mesmerising views and intoxicating smell of the forest.

Our trip ended with Strawberry farms – pick your own strawberries… buy the jam, chocolates and souvenirs…and don’t forget to enjoy the rain 😉

Next day we spent exploring the city and the market…

Cameron highland is not just beautiful but also peaceful. If you want to have a relaxed vacation do visit Cameron highland. 4 Days are enough, though we still did not want to leave!

So if you want to experience all this, do give this place a shot! Keep following for our last destination Langkawi! Go Banjare! 🙂
