Your wings already exist. All you have to do is FLY !!!
Today I am gonna share my first Paragliding experience with you! This post was long overdue. I did it when I visited my grandparent near Nainital, India over last new years.
What exactly is Paragliding?
Paragliding is an adventure sport: lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing comprising a large number of interconnected baffled cells. Wing shape is maintained by the suspension lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing, and the aerodynamic forces of the air flowing over the outside.
Despite not using an engine, paragliders flight can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometres, though flights of one to two hours and covering some tens of kilometres are more the norm. By skilful exploitation of sources of lift, the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand meters.

My Paragliding experience!
Always wanted to Fly, free like a bird. But I guess it is not possible in this birth at least ;) Hope to be born as a bird in the next one, though! I indeed wanted to paraglide, this was LONG planned. Finally, got my WINGS!
Once before my plan got cancelled due to bad weather. You need proper weather for the same as its all the trick of the wind.
Here is a video of my flight, it was a lot of fun:
Trek up to the spot
Good things never come easy, it was true in this case. To jump off the mountain you need to climb up to the spot first. So from the mainland, you need to trek up to the jump zone. I was too excited and at the same time a bit nervous.
About after 10-15 minutes, finally reached the launch spot. There were other paragliders launching off, I was all set to fly in few minutes :)
Preparing for the flight
At the jump zone, they got an indemnity form signed, in case you meet an accident you are responsible for the same ;) This was important as paragliding is an extreme sport and it may risk your life or chances of getting injured.
After that got a short briefing and explanation and got geared up and strapped to the parachute and the instructor.
At the Edge
Standing at the edge of the mountain and looking down the world was an experience hard to explain in words.
Though taking off was much easier than I thought! Just a few steps running down the hill and in the air!
And so after a short run, we started flying, with the force of the wind. Admiring the mountains around us and the villages beneath. It was a magnificent view and a very exciting experience to be so high up in the sky. The world felt tiny and the sky was the limit. Thrilling!!!
During the flight had a chit chat with the pilot about how long he is flying, from where is he trained etc. He taught me some techniques too and let me drive. It was a short paragliding learning session for me up in the air ;)
Furthermore, the parachute steered into a downward spiral. It felt like being on a rollercoaster, but better! It was so much fun!
Then we started to descend, slowly. The way to land for paragliding is similar to take off. And finally landed safely with both feet on the ground.

It was a lifetime experience and a tick on my bucket list. Would love to try it yet again! Go Banjare! :)
